MBHS Students Succeed at DECA State Competition

Mountain Brook High School had 27 students attend and compete in the recent Alabama DECA State Competition. Students took a 100-question exam related to their chosen category prior to attending the competition that equated to 1/3 of their overall score. Once at the competition, students competed in various categories like Entrepreneurship, Business Law and Ethics, Financial Services, Hospitality Services and many more. They were given a role play and had 30 minutes to come up with a business solution before they presented it to the judges. This portion was the other 2/3 of the overall score. Almost 1300 students across the state competed at this competition and MBHS had 13 finalists and 5 place in the top 4 in their category.
