Making It Happen: Sharon Mumm
Congratulations to Brookwood Forest Elementary Technology Coordinator, Sharon Mumm, who recently received the “Making It Happen” Award from Alabama Leaders in Educational Technology (ALET). This award is an internationally recognized awards program for educators in the field of educational technology integration in K–12 schools. The program identifies and rewards educational technology leaders around the world for their commitment and innovation.
Mumm has been the Technology Coordinator at BWF for over 31 years and has helped the school along with the district advance in technology uses and practices during her tenure. Prior to her time as the school’s Technology Coordinator, she spent five years in the classroom teaching 3rd and 5th grade.
In addition to her role, Mumm has led the Alabama Technology Integration Coach (ALTIC) program for the past seven years, helping it grow and thrive. She is committed not only to using current technology but also to finding new ways to move forward. Sharon spearheaded the transition to Schoology, streamlining the ALTIC program, and utilized tools like Zoom and social media to foster collaboration.
