MBHS Tennis Defends 6A State Championships

Congratulations to the Mountain Brook High School tennis teams for their performance this week at the AHSAA 6A state championships!
The boys won their third state championship in a row and 29th in program history!

The girls won their 8th consecutive state championship which brings their program total to 34 girls tennis state championships.

The two titles propelled Mountain Brook past the 200 mark when accounting for total state championships in school history among all AHSAA sanctioned varsity sports. MBHS has 201 total and this is the fifth state championship this school year.

The girls team has the school’s longest active state championship streak with 8.
The 8 year streak is the 2nd longest streak in school history (girls cross country won 13 in a row from 2003-2015.
The boys 3-in-a-row streak is the 5th of its kind in program history. Boys also won 3 in a row in 1985-1987, 1996-1998, 2008-2010, and 2015-2017.
